How the camera lies…

While the early morning sunrises can be quite spectacular, they’re far from this dramatic. The colors are much more in pale pastel range, but I wanted to really capture the redness of the rising sun. The resulting under-exposure meant that the sky turned so much more dramatic and I just couldn’t resist playing around with it just a little more.

Simply put, this is Ramin Miraftabi's photoblog. It is an offshoot of my main (in English) blog, randomfire.

I decided to start photoblogging to better challenge myself photographically. We've been publishing a daily photoblog of dog pictures (The Life of Jalo) since September 2004 but I wanted to branch out a bit. Originally I tried to adhere to the picture-a-day approach, but that didn't work. Partly because some days I ran out of time and other days I had good images left over. So now my goal is just to publish a new picture every day. It'll also let me play around a bit more with post-processing, which LoJ doesn't really do.
