Lightning

After several shots, I finally did manage to catch a strand of lightning.

I’ve also realized why most pictures of lightning seem to be taken over urban areas. The ambient light gives some interest to shots that don’t have any lightning in them and there’s some additional visual interest. Here it was pitch black and even a 30s exposure didn’t bring out any detail in the surrounding countryside unless flashes of lightning lit the clouds.
