The fields in January

A view of the fields near our home. Just as last winter, the snow we got in November melted giving us a gloomy christmas. Even early January didn’t have snow, the white on the ground is frost from the moisture in the air when it finally got colder.

The days are short with few precious hours of sunlight to lighten the day (if the sun shows). But at least the days are becoming longer all the time.

This is my first entry for Trevor Carpenter’s 2008 challenge. I’ll provide a better writeup of my thoughts and goals with the challenge over on randomfire when I have the time. This post has been slightly back-dated to fall in the first week of 2008 since the picture was waiting for the new layout.
